To venture, to go forth, is both an ancient commandment and an irresistible human compulsion. It is an urge to explore not only the world (or the universe), but also the mind of the explorer – to get to know oneself.

When I venture forth, whether to walk in my neighborhood or to travel to distant lands across the world, I can’t help looking at the sights around me with wonder. My senses and sensibilities accompany me, informing how I perceive, learn, and make new meanings. This mental process is what drives the images I choose to make.

I’m equally inspired by the mysticism of ordinary objects we all see daily and extraordinary scenes in exotic places. To my mind, both reveal marvels of design and layers of metaphorical meaning.
